Although the racing seems to be more intense, I still wonder how the Chase would play out if there were'nt a seperate format for the points going into the Chase, say, if the points were to remain the same till the end of the season, would the same drivers be in the same positions.I remember back before they changed it the first time. Jeff was in the lead going in and presto, the points changed and he was bumped down the list. It sure didn't seem fair, and I'm not sure it's that fair now since the drivers who earned wins get bonus points for those wins going into the Chase. In a sport where NASCAR is trying to make the field fair to all, its nearly impossible for teams with less money to spend, to even compete let alone win a race. The points were the only thing keeping them competitive enough to return each week to fill the field. Just a thought...
